The 2009-2010 Trenton Musicians Foundation
ArtsAward Scholarship

At the award ceremony, Trenton High School senior Facia
Johnson receives the award certificate and a scholarship
check from Trenton Musicians Foundation founder and president
Andrew Worek. Mayor Palmer, to Facia's left, was nice
enough to let us hold our ceremony in his private conference
room in City Hall. From left: Lance Reichert, Katmandu
Trenton; Joseph Zuccarello, foundation member and music
teacher at Gregory School in Trenton, Andrew Worek, Facia
Johnson, Trenton Mayor Douglas H. Palmer.

Ms. Johnson's friends and family attended the event, and cheered
her on, while everyone enjoyed the hospitality of Mayor Palmer
and staff.
Facia, a musician, dancer and highly recommended student, will
be attending a highly-regarded independent university in North
Carolina. There she'll be studying music and communications,
and no doubt playing trumpet in the marching band. Congratulations,
Facia!
The ArtsAward scholarship applications are closed for this year.
Watch for a new application after the benefit concert on September 12.
The Trenton Musicans Foundation ArtsAward Scholarship is a cash award, designed to help a Trenton-area student further their education in the Visual and Performing arts.
The VISUAL ARTS are mostly just what you’d think, technically described as “the creation of works which are primarily visual in nature”: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, installations,
PERFORMING ARTS are usually defined as: “arts such as dance, drama, and music, that are performed before an audience.”
Any questions about art forms that may be both (”performance art”, for example) will be reviewed and a determination will be made by us and our experts and advisors. Common sense will be our guiding principle.
