About the Trenton Musicians Foundation
(June 9, 2009) Trenton, NJ — A group of Trenton musicians and music lovers has formed a foundation that aims to emphasize the value of music and all the performing and visual arts through a scholarship fund to assist the city’s students in those fields.
“The Trenton Musicians’ Foundation was the brainchild of Drew Worek, and I am delighted to support his ground-level effort to increase local attention to musicianship – and all performing and visual arts activities among young people in our city,” said Mayor Douglas H. Palmer. “There are many good causes that focus on our youth; this is a very important one.”
Drew "DD" Worek, a Trenton business owner and musician, is the president of the Trenton Musicians Foundation. He has formed a volunteer board of Trenton musicians and supporters to help achieve its goals, he said, including creating a scholarship fund for Trenton youth, with the first awards made just last year. Another goal is to sponsor supportive musical programs in the Trenton public schools.
